Two Manchester Corporation vehicles that entered service eleven years apart are seen here at the southern end of Piccadilly Bus Station as they turn westwards onto Portland Street. The leading vehicle is Daimler CVG6 No 4418 NNB 228 with a Metro-Cammell H32/28R body which entered service in 1954 was based at Northenden Garage, and 3749 BND 749C is a Metro-Cammell H43/33F bodied Leyland Atlantean which entered service in 1965 and was based at Princess Road Garage.  (Photo by M Jones)Previous | NextTwo Metro-Cammell bodied Daimler CVG6s stand alongside each other in the bus park on Chester Road. The vehicle on the left is 4433 NNB 243 with a standard front end appearance whereas its sister vehicle 4467 NNB 277 by contrast has plain facing windows on the upper deck with a distinctly narrow gap. 4474 & 4475 from Hyde Road Depot were of similar appearance to the latter. Both vehicles in this photo were allocated to Princess Road Depot prior to their withdrawal from traffic in 1974 after twenty years in revenue-earning service.
