This collection of photos will contain buses from their days of municipal operations to the day when they were taken over by the PTE.

A front and offside view of Manchester Corporation Leyland PD2 No 3711 (3711VM) seen here outside its home depot at Parrs Wood during a crew change on the Limited Stop 162 service from Piccadilly to Gatley. This vehicle spent its entire life working the suburbs of South Manchester, initially as a Parrs Wood vehicle before moving northwards to Birchfields Road garage where it remained until withdrawal in 1974 after ten years service.  4th October 1964.

The leading vehicle is 529 FRJ 529 followed by 518 FRJ 518 which both have an H30/24R Metro-Cammell body of Phoenix design from 1951 are working the 96 and 95 route to Whitefield. In the background stands a Manchester Corporation Leyland PD2 with an H37/28R Burlingham body.  4th October 1964.

Several vehicles in this batch of forty (3631-3670) were fitted with the half-drop saloon window vents and an offside illuminated advertisement panel as seen here.  21st August 1970.

This vehicle had entered service in 1963 and is air brake operated with a Gardner 6LW engine and preselector gearbox. It is seen here on Princess Street in Central Manchester taking part in the Lord Mayor's parade procession on the 20th June 1981.

Manchester Corporation Leyland Atlantean No 1140 NNB 545H with an East Lancs H47/32F body is seen here descending Crescent Road in Crumpsall working the No 7 route from Mandley Park to Brookdale Park. This was one of twelve single-door Atlanteans in a fleet of 24 vehicles based at Queens Road garage. The other twelve vehicles in this batch were fitted with dual doors and were split evenly between Birchfields Road and Northenden garage in the south of the city.
